#Random Reward Roll Level Sliders

It has always bothered me that, when doing the random recipe rolls from either reward merits or AE tickets, the level slider does not do anything. For example, if I'm level 50 and I set the slider to lvl 25, I would expect that to be treated as the max level for any recipe drops I get, but that is not the case - instead, it will always give you the recipe at its max level.

This is of course not always desired, since procs are best obtained at their lowest possible level. There's also the concept of making exemplar-ready builds, and purposefully slotting lower level sets to keep those bonuses when exemplared. So there are certainly reasons why a player would intentionally try to get recipes at lower levels than their max.

So the suggestion here would be that those random reward rolls honor that level slider as the maximum possible level for any recipe drops received.

Similar to how if you outright purchase a recipe you can control the level of that specific recipe?

But you want the random roll to also stay aligned? Interesting. I didn't realize random rolls behave in the manner you've described. I'll pass this along to other devs.

We do want to make adjustments at some point that encourage more recipe generation and vending. This sounds like it would maybe lead to options that contribute to that surplus production for an organic market place.

I did have another idea that I think could really boost market activity as well, which probably warrants its own thread here (but I actually brought this one up a while back, so I didn't want to repost it). The other idea was to add a new conversion type to the enhancement conversion menu. So in addition to "in set conversion" and "out of set conversion," we could also have "level conversion" - so when you drop a crafted IO into the conversion window and select "level conversion," the dropdown menu would list all of the available levels for that set IO, so you would then choose the level you want to convert it to from the dropdown and then convert.

I suspect that, a large reason why a lot of things either don't get posted on the market, or don't sell on the market, is because they're not always at the particular level that people want. This would encourage people to list/buy those items, regardless of their level, since players would now have a method of turning those "undesired level IOs" into the levels they actually do want.

I think this sort of highlights a drawback of the current slotting/exemplar rules for COH. Perhaps that would be a good topic for a suggestion.

This is definitely the sort of thinking that aligns with our goals of tweaking existing systems to find a way for an unseeded organic market with natural fluctuations of supplies and demands to come to life, even on a smaller server.

I cannot commit to this idea as it is not my main role and a systemic change this significant may represents a lot of work to implement and would require full team input. But its proposals along these lines are things our team has talked about when considering how to make an in game economy that is exciting, dynamic, and responsive to community trends.

As an additional (and late) follow-up on this, I just tested with alignment merits and can confirm it works the same way for those - the level slider isn't taken into consideration, and the recipes are obtained at their max level regardless.
