#How to stop my mic from picking my laptop fan/audio???

There’s not much you can do if you have to record with your laptop close. Maybe pivot your microphone so that the rear of the capsule is facing it, and make sure you don’t have anything else on your laptop that might be running to minimize the incentive for the fans to spin.
You could install fan control software to manual cut the fans lower, but you might risk overheating.
at most i might have to buy an isolation shield for my mic
Depending on the level of the fans, the difference could either be massive or negligible. Regardless I don’t think that would be a bad purchase at all, and would fully endorse it.
If you are going to get a shield, I would look into a windscreen as well. It would help a little, and doubles as a pop filter.

I wouldn't say that much.
