bit late seeing this, but i think if you are unable to distance yourself from the awards system it might be best to take a break/stop
(obviously im not saying you have to quit, but i dont think youll enjoy map making when your satisfaction with the map is linked to somewhat arbitrary external factors)

for me personally i dont let map awards demotivate me much anymore, i think if i still cared a great deal about them then i probably would never have finished my last 2 maps

i also highly doubt this. if the map scored high enough to beat 15 other maps then surely it scored high enough to be featured? saying that, there are some maps in the top 15 that might notve scored enough for featured (which raises some questions for me) but drift is overall super polished and def isnt one of them

I just feel like there something the awards team have against my maps because there’s no way that alj remake doesn’t get featured despite it being featured quality especially with averages that have no way of being that low

whilst generally the rating system does a good job of sorting maps into tiers, its very difficult to work with since you dont know what exactly constitutes levels 0-3 for each rating, what rating each judge gave your map causing the average to be low and what specifically made them do it. its all complicated just looking in from the outside, its not worth it to give it your headspace because itll only be demotivating
