Missing default Gmod textures

I've been dealing with this issue for a while, and I haven't found a solution. Some of the default game textures are missing and have the checkerboard replacing them. I have reinstalled the game at least once and verified my files many times, and it doesn't fix the issue. Not sure what could be causing this

I do not. Not really sure how to get it mounted

Try aiming at a missing texture and typing mat_crosshair in your console

Then type whereis materials/yourmaterial/here.vmt

Chances are it won’t find it. But if it’s errorig due to an addon it will do that too

Do they have CSS?

Or anything like that

I do have CSS, but you shouldn't need it for these specific maps.

Try deleting hl2_misc_***.vpk in your GarrysMod/sourceengine folder

and validate your game files to redownload it

Prolly hl2_textures_*** too

Verify your files; right click Gmod on steam, click "Properties", click "Local Files", then click "Verify integrity of game files."

If that doesn’t work, run the game with as few addons as possible. Disable all addons with the wrench on the bottom right of the addon menu. Then just enable freespace.

As I mentioned it could be an addon being dumb
