-little to no developer api since source 2 is closed source and the only one with access is garry
-the current gamemode system is terrible, addons were better imo
-unoptimized game, somehow has worse perf than when I played half life alyx (you have to render the scene 2 times in vr)
-i dont want to be trapped in a game environment anymore, id rather just make a game myself
-source 2 has a shit physics engine
-source 2 is not a good game engine, it was specifically made for half life alyx
-garrys code is still… questionable
-I dont like roblox
-everything is apparently easy with a newer engine, people have already made a bunch of cool stuff and a lot of it is stuff I already did that people were impressed with (water, portals, terrain, etc)
-unrelated, but the playermodel is ass

fair enough

#

I dont agree with everything but I see what you mean

#

I think it's cool personally, my only complaints about it is the insane gatekeeping that's happening and the unwelcoming dev community

#

among other more dev-related things but I take into account that it's still in development so I'm being patient with those

oh yeah, and i randomly got banned from their discord for no reason

#

so thats cool

LOL

#

Truth be told the current discord is better than the previous one

#

Previous one was way worse in terms of toxicity and shit

fair lake
#

it replaced toxicity with toxic elitism

#

so take it as you will

celest schooner

Yeah

#

unless you code on sbox for 10 hours daily prepared to be bullied

#

i mean its cool and all but mee got most of the points

#

plus with all the effort you would need to make original content ™️ you should just make a game on unity

#

gmod had a simple api and tons of content, all of which sbox doesnt have right now

Somehow “don’t be a complete asshole” is never one of the rules they like enforcing on their platforms
