I've been feeling really overwhelmed by larger projects lately so to kinda get my mind off of things I've started doing the exact opposite, deliberately creating things that are very small in scope and don't rely on any underlying systems or (weapon) bases

So far I've made...

  • A (mostly) faithful recreation of the HL2 beta irifle
  • A straight port of the TTT newton launcher to sandbox
  • Flechette grenades

The irifle implements it's own flare entity, complete with the ability to embed into surfaces and effects recreated in lua

The flechette grenade fires a number of hunter flechettes (with boosted damage) at random entities in range and supports being spawned as 'live' grenades, arming when you pick them up with +use or the gravity gun

I've got a few more ideas on the backburner along with wanting to make some of my existing stuff (simple weapons or otherwise) standalone in this same way but I'm open to suggestions if anyone has them
