npm i
then f5
Trying to run the test-provider-sample but am running into errors on a clean install (also updated the vscode engine version):
seems to be a bug with ur vscode install at the very least
make a pr with it if you can
Sure thing
tho
Oh that explains why i can see the function
its missing newer functions
shockingly, the wiki scraper is the part of this system that has somehow stayed reliable over the years
oh yeah it does have it
meanwhile ts hasnt
Interesting

you gotta manually add missing shit to this lmfao https://github.com/WilliamVenner/vscode-glua-enhanced/blob/master/syntaxes/lua.tmLanguage.json
oh no
would be cool if someone PR'd something that can do it automatically though
nonono
๐
yeah
what the slop
you guys dont understand how slop this extension actually is
i guess we could just write a lua script for that
is this automatically updated from time to time? can this be used for it
yeah i have a server somewhere that updates it daily or whatever
the extension already downloads this automatically
and stores it
permanently
would you be interested in a github action that does it automatically
The amazing part of this, is that it's not AI slop
ill just make a script people can run easily for now
actions are a pain in the ass to test
Compared to SrLi*n RNDX shader
not particularly because
- github automatically disables that shit after a certain amount of time
- the wiki embedded in the extension is only there to serve as an ancient default, ideally you should always have an up to date copy as it'll just download https://venner.io/gmod-wiki.json
unless i die of course
but arrangements have been made for that event
Thanks, now i'm concerned about what's even worth to be updated into it
shit was invented before AI ๐ญ๐๐ป
probably would've been better if i had access to AI really
I kinda understand why it's like this
It's incredible THIS was being ran for over the past 5 years on my computer

there's space for someone else to make a much better extension that is more of a full solution than hacked together slop
we almost got one https://github.com/LorettaDevs/Loretta but he lost motivation unfortunately
I have been doing glua for over 15 years, i will die on this hill, with your extension billy
i dont fucking know how it's still working after all these years
ai slop
lol
ehm i think theres a second issue to address
i dont think the syntax highlighting file can be programmatically changed at runtime in vscode
or at least, its not set up like that yet
let me go look if thats possible
atm it does this
https://code.visualstudio.com/api/references/contribution-points#contributes.grammars
cant seem to find an api that lets you do this programmatically
whats wrong with it :v
fix it clanker
ideally it should just highlight all functions to be honest
idk why it hard codes available functions
just needs a regex to highlight <identifier>.<identifier><whitespace>(
i think you'd still need to do all the hardcoding for the constants
oh yeah that is true
oh wow
a provider could be made that just does this
i wonder if the clanker could do it
what even was its implementation
wouldn't it need to actually parse lua
im pretty sure the extension doesnt ever parse lol?
yeah nah, its doing terrible

ai slop aint there yet
good, we get to keep our jobs for now
