but if i add all of them to the blacklist and then update it will BREAK the addon for gosh sake
then I don't see any other way to put it on the workshop
i did notice meetric used powershell for installers as an alternative way to get Gwater 2 working (or installed) i wonder if i can use that too
it might save myself some time
gwater 2 uses external modules so it is possible for it

well i already did that before but i'm already planning to create .bat files that uses powershell to install the blacklisted files automaticly to the addon folder
why..? what do end users need the model source files for
i also meant the scripts folder too

after all these are coded by Urakolouy5 and not me but it's just me and my team such as femboy and pop4484 and Lixue trying to revive this addon
it was abandoned originally
now also URAK didn't mind about a revive after all

idk about SF2, but I'm pretty sure you'll have to create some kind of soundscape system of your own that will meet the workshop requirements
or just support this addon only on github
but without a big team the development will be very slow and trying to change the soundscape system is highly time Consuming
it all starts with a single step
I think this is why the original addon was abandoned
No i'm not gonna let that forked version have that same fate

SF1 got one, but there are a few issues since the parser in SF1 isn't as good as NikNaks.
When you override the soundscape system, you also need to override default entity behavior and a few other things. Or your client crash.
Scripts can do more than just soundscapes and vehicles. That is prob why it is only allowed inside PAK within maps.
It isn't tested, but maybe you can achieve something similar using: https://wiki.facepunch.com/gmod/sound.AddSoundOverrides , if it allows you to target outside the script folder.
Overrides sounds defined inside of a txt file; typically used for adding map-specific sounds.
Otherwise your only option is to hardcode the sounds and block the originals with https://wiki.facepunch.com/gmod/GM:EntityEmitSound

Soundscapes are a closed system since messing with it will result in an instant crash. (If a file / node or something else is missing)
Idk why gp2 needs 106 soundscript files. Seems unreasonable for 8 maps, so they're most likely for overriding default portal maps or something.
The mod will work without the soundscript files, and your console should tell you if they're missing.
So what I would do is to port the project and check what is missing from there.
well because on portal 2 there's actually 117 maps
and GP2 is focused on making portal 2 maps function
Each map should already have the soundscape files in them
At least it is common
If you mount Portal content, you will also mount the soundscape files
well those soundscape files were coded by URAKOLOUY5 and i'm new so i don't much knowledge about it
i'm just revivng this addon with a team and i'm still learning Glua
Thats why I suggest ignoring them from now and figure out what is missing later
Idk why the original creator try to override the soundscape files, or what GP2 is. But I do know you can run the game fine while missing a few textures, sounds or soundscape files. You'll just be notified in the console.
