Infected addons

An hour ago some addons got infected with probably a virus, once you start a map you will start to see yourself saying in the chat "Breathing", also once you start a game your interface will be changed and when you press escape your only option will be disconnect, there seems to be nothing more but the creator commented in one of the infected addons saying "Thank you for providing all your databases to me :)", the creator goes by the name "Freshad" on steam and the addons infected are "PlayStation Portable", "Script Error icon remover", "KillerHands!"and "Soda Gun", I can provide links to all infected addons. I already reported his profile to steam.

For what I know gmodpublisher is really strict on what you can upload, if he took anything from people I would guess is the steam_id and that's it

Unless he’s discovered some zero-day exploit in the source engine there is no risk of anything outside of your /garrysmod/ files being exposed

I'm gonna get all the addons and save them locally, then freeze my gmod version and never updating it again, safest way to play in the future xdd

Yeah they’re just trolling. Best thing to do is unsubscribe from addons you’re not actively using (in case they get updated in the future)

yea im always checkig the recenty updated addons

and if i find out they have been recently updated

i have to check the internet to see if they have been infected

but that is just too much to play a little sandbox game

might just quit the game ngl i have been playing for over a decade anyway
