Neat! What kind of optimizations did you do?

doors cache (in radius) splitted to ticks
each door has formatted todisplay text, event based updates
minimal math & ccalls
3d2d cursor updates only when moved

I have an idea that you might like

#

I think you could enhance your 3D2D cursor with some (relatively) simple snapping and context-aware parenting

#

I've got a mockup of what I mean, one moment

#

If you look at the door itself, the cursor becomes a knocking symbol and pressing +use would knock on the door

#

If you look at the handle, the cursor changes to indicate you're now grabbing. I think it would be cool to have the cursor snap to the handle if you are looking somewhat near to it. This would reduce frustration with needing to look directly at the handle to open the door

#

Then, when opening the door, the cursor could change to a closed hand and parent to + rotate with the door handle

#

Of course this may not be what you want to do with your project, but I had the idea when I saw your video and thought it might give you some inspiration

If only implementing something was as easy as editing a screenshot!

whats this emoji? custom made for this design?

drifting meteor
#

Yeah, I just took the pointed finger emoji, converted it to curves, slid the index finger downward and deleted a bunch of the thumb

wow great work

Thanks! It's not too difficult to edit flat-shaded emoji, thankfully

#

I usually just send the emoji into Discord, then open the Discord web client and use inspect element to find the direct link to the .svg file for the emote and base my changes on that

Those are nice but they lack a convenient way to search for a specific emoji

#

Whereas Discord provides a very convenient emote search

I use Affinity Designer which has a button for it
