It would be cool, of course, to put the interface onto the model itself (In addition to the pop-up window) so that other players could see what you're doing. That's, of course, a bit of a difficult thing to pull off well, but I think you could "get away" with making a few static screen images like a login screen, an access denied screen, an access granted screen, and a generic desktop-like screen, then show the appropriate one based on what the person using the computer is doing
Depending on what your plans are for it, you could potentially allow criminals to "hack" the computer to deactivate active warrants, release prisoners from jail, etc.
It would be a great excuse to make a fun hacking animation

i think you can simulate popular OSes design a bit more closely to make it more intuitive. e.g. give names to icons, put them to left, make them create windows instead of fullscreen fill, etc...
also your "access denied" screen can give more information than just beep and scream at user. like, what if you also put session id (random number) attempted login time, and other stuff that can help identify the intruder?

I already had that image as the "background" but i wasn't able to do some other things. I may try it out, thanks for the idea!

I like the rounded corners
That gray bar at the bottom looks odd to me
I understand it's intended to be a fake version of the Windows start bar, but it doesn't quite "work" for me personally
I think if you had it instead as the same blue as the background and reformatted the date/time to be more verbose it might look even better
