I tried using $phong on brushes and it doesn't seem to work properly. The $phongexponent value doesn't change the visuals anyhow, and only the 4th value of $phongamount does anything (0 makes the surface dark)

I'm confused because phong should work on brushes in gmod (I tried replicating the values from the video): https://youtu.be/XL-p7GEMNGg?t=495

This new Garry's mod update adds alot of new and cool features that will affect you, the mapper!
This includes:
• Static prop lightmapping
• Phong on LightmappedGeneric textures (Brushes)
• New entities, inputs, and outputs!
Some stuff has changed in the Hammer Editor too, but not much.

Apparently I just needed env_sun 🥲

phong on brushes works ONLY if there is env_sun on the map, that is what phong reflects, and not light sources as it should be, I have no idea how it worked in CSGO, but in Gmod it works like this and it’s very sad.
