#Quick update to this: **The mirror now
1 messages ยท Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Main feature of this mirror is that I can easily download gmodwiki to my notebook and use wiki while I'm offline. Thank you!
Twice a day should be fine, though. I mean how often does the original wiki change anyway?
Reasonably it should only check for differences in the "recent changes" feed to determine if and which pages require redownloading
Yep, that's how it works ๐
A few times a day
The docker image updates weekly!
Ohh, totaly forgot! Thats even better ๐
Is the docker image live right now? Seems to be a 404 on the github repo
What's 404ing for you?
https://github.com/CFC-Servers/gmodwiki/pkgs/container/gmodwiki
docker pull ghcr.io/cfc-servers/gmodwiki:latest
Github is funky. You have to be logged in to use its package repo - it's pretty dumb
I'll see about getting it up on dockerhub, but that has a whole other set of issues I'd need to address
Ah I see. I'm still relatively new to Docker so I wasn't aware of that limitation. Thanks ๐
mirror is faster and more stable
Offline availability is a big one for some people
We can add more features to it to make wiki-ing a more seamless and enjoyable experience
Plus Facepunch doesn't have a very good track record of maintaining community web resources...
The mirror is here forever. It costs me nothing to run and I can do so indefinitely. And so can you - anyone can host their own public instance for free
I do so responsibly and as infrequently as possible
After the initial build, it only re-scrapes pages when they're changed (according to /~recentchanges)
Thatโs quite reasonable
I yield
Hey, I still have the issue on my end, I don't have access to the link even logged in.
And the docker pull is not working either
~ % docker pull ghcr.io/cfc-servers/gmodwiki:latest
Error response from daemon: denied
Any idea why?
Weird, you did docker login?
Either way - no worries, I'll get it set up on dockerhub so you can access it without logging in - probably tonight!
Seems like the package settings weren't set up right - it should work on ghcr.io for you now!
Tysm!
Please let me know if it worked for you! I'd like to make the self hosting as seamless as I can ๐
