there isn’t a touch limit. Something else in the game is causing them to fail somehow

Are you restarting your map regularly? Any misbehaving scripts?

Since the entities function in the copied map, you should…probably use the copied map. Vmf format is kinda fucky because Valve in their ultimate wisdom decided it should use lossy compression, and may cause subtle errors when re-opening a file

I believe I found the issue to be too many func_detail entities

But it's not limited to func detail

If you turn func detail into func brush, it doesn't solve this specific problem
