#Game stuck on initializing resources

I don't know about "initializing resources" but for me it gets stuck at "Loading map" & refuses to go any further: heck I can't even click on the game to cancel the loading or make it start not responding like it usually does!
Here is the screenshot of my problem
It gets stuck on that screen forever until I close the game
i also have the same issue that started happening today
i tried loading in to a map with most of my addons disabled and it worked but idk which addons are causing it
Just bribe the game with cookies or something
I would love to know any good temporary solutions until a hotfix is issued
For me it's playing with not all your addons enabled, just a few (this isn't ideal of course but it's all we can do for right now seemingly).
no offense, was looking for "good" solutions but yeah I know it works if you do -noworkshop and -noaddons
Facepunch must have screwed something with the addon system up in the latest update then.
just hoping for a swift fix so I can actually play it on my extended weekend

checking task manager, what seems to be happening is that it get stucks at a certain number of memory being stuck at the same digits for minutes on end
i assume this is a new form of "mod-troll"
its caused by a mod, and its obviously on purpose
it seems to be mostly only when GMA is being loaded, so i do assume it's just a mod and it's some sort of troll mod like a screamer, but instead of a flashing image it just doesnt let you load, as for how its done exactly im not sure
it has not left 3.9k for 5 minutes
defintiely some dickhead who just decided to update his mod after 5 years just to fuck with gmod players
I disabled all the recently updated mods without effect, so no, that isn’t it
It also stops using cpu beyond ~1% for me at the freezing point
that's strange
disabling addons is an instant fix for me
i guess this goes deeper than i thought
Yes, I think it’s some resource allocation problem with addons
i did run menu_cleanupgmas so its obviously something thats still not banned
or that garry and the gmod team fucked something up

The timing with the update to 64x isn’t coincidental
I don't believe it's an addon as I tried disabling most of my recently-obtained & updated ones & it didn't make any difference.
Pretty sure that's what we're dealing with here.
It’s not one addon in particular, I think. Perhaps the update just made a few addons incompatible by mistake?
As I said above, something with the game's addon system had to have gotten screwed up with this latest update.

ill make a 2nd download on my d drive that has 0 addons overall and load it up
for me disabling works, but i still recall ze's friend talking about a new trick he cooked up for GMA that prevents all forms of loading custom files
Already tried that as well as with very few addons: Gmod'll load maps as long as you don't have too many addons enabled or installed (I have a total of 1591 & it worked fine with this number before).
People were yelling about a “neurobase/neuroplanes” addon on steam discussions that they said caused the problem for them
that was 2018 right?
neuroplanes is far outdated by lfs and whatever the fuck is around now
i do recall the guy who made neuro being called out in 2016 for developing cheat softwares though

A lot of Neuro addons have military vehicles like tanks that you can't get anywhere else, so those are more-or-less not outdated for one.
imagine LFS, an easy to understand flight sim

their netcode is so ass that playing on multiplayer with them is like trying to get 2 computers to communicate in the year 1951
thats why it died
Last I tested them I believe I did encounter problems with them (forget what they were though). Any idea what went wrong in their creation?

Well that's obvious since like I said playing Gmod with very few or no addons enabled or installed allows it to load maps fine.
For some reason no one at Facepunch seems to be aware of this very serious problem affecting Gmod players everywhere though.

I would have pinged him yesterday when this thread started but I believe you're not supposed to ping staff as per the rules (which creates a problem in times of serious issues like this one).

Is it possible to see the resource initialization log somewhere?
The only thing that changed in the last few days was x86-64-temp branch being deleted, and x86-64-temp being pushed to x86-64 as it lacked a years worth of updates.
Make sure it didn't default you to mainbranch with temps deletion as 32bit gmod literally cannot use more than 3-4gb ram
"garry and team" is just rubat. Garry abandoned this years ago.

So, singleplayer only- affecting x86-64? It affecting main doesn't make much sense as the update is out next week for that
Fp is EU/UK, that was 1am. "everywhere" Doesn't affect me, works fine and I have <100 addons, I'll look into the coincidences and see what turns up
Yep, Broken only 64 branch, the single player does not run at all (endless initialization of resources), if you open a local game, it runs, but many models are not displayed "Error creating '(spam in the console a large number of models)' (Make sure the file is AddCSLuaFile'd and there aren’t any errors)
For example, I can’t see c-hands
the problem is only in the correct loading of addon resources

Yep, probably because he's the only one still actually working on Gmod.
guys i figured out the problem just switch to normal beta load game then load a map just in case. then go back to 86-64 bit i tyed that and it worked
From what we know Rubat fixed the problem.
