its because the gmod devs decided not to update the 64bit and chromium branches to the latest GMod version, and if they do that vj base will work. - The Dev of VJ Base said that on a youtube comment.

Switch to 32 bit and it will work, because 64bit or chromium whatever you have chosen, they are highly outdated versions of Gmod. - another reply from the dev of vj base
