Mic completely broken in game | Garry's Mod | Page 1

I have tried every solution to this issue and none of them have worked. My voice in game is enabled, steam voice settings are set to my microphone, I have tested my microphone with steam voice settings and it doesn't work (only in gmod), I have enabled and disabled voice, reinstalled gmod multiple times, validated my game files, uninstalled and reinstalled all addons, checked that my microphone is my default in sound settings, and yet gmod cannot seem to use my microphone at all. It doesn't seem to want to access my microphone despite having permissions to do so. I have gone through every solution and I have no idea what could be left.

Additionally when I try testing my mic in game it starts then stops testing instantly.

Furthermore, when I check windows voice privacy it says that none of the gmod affiliated apps have accessed my microphone for months

i had that too just disconnect your mic or headset then restart your pc and then it should work

Update: disconnecting, restarting and reconnecting my mic does not seem to have worked
