||you'd think that makima would have denji's back to a certain extent but she knew very well that denji would get absolutely fucked if anything happened to that char and she went thru with it despite knowing all that, and thats right around the time where denji didn't want to decide for himself because of this specific trauma and that is what makima ended up exploiting later on post reze arc, he just wanted someone else to take over the drivers seat cuz of this trauma that happened in the reze arc so no only do you learn about makima's true nature in that arc but you also see the main crack that appears in denji on that arc and this is like the main plot of the show in the long run|| - csm reze + part 1 manga

||makima's main goal was to build everything up for denji and tear it all down into nothing to mindfuck him and it could still be viewed by viewers at this point that makima was doing her job as they thought shes still just public safety but yeah she definetly seems more evil to denji specifcially here but whether its an overally evil act? not compared to her previous. and we later find out she's not really a villian she's just insane basically wanting to create her ideal world so she's basically arrogant not entirely evil i mean there's mutliple people more evil than her and the way she's written is designed to make her complex not just an evil woman but i agree denji got good char dev in reze but he had a good amount in s1 esp with the chupa chup scene||

I watched brotherhood 1st and :
Didn't like how they handled the characters, the villains were bland, and wasn't fond of the pacing, and the thing I hated the most about brotherhood, is that each time the series tried to take itself, they throw constantly these stupid attempts at comedy that ruins the serious tone of the show.

With 2003 show, I much prefer how the handled cast, the pacing is tigher, the villains are much more interesting, I liked how they handled the homonculs, and the music is alot better,i don't think the ending is horrible or anything but it is quit rushed.

So I don't think any fma is perfect, but I just thought 2003 overall was much more captivating whereas with brotherhood I was just like "Ehh get this BS from my screen"

I get what you mean honestly. I think that quote hits because there’s a lot of truth in it. The world really does work in cycles where one thing creates its opposite. People fight for peace, love creates fear and attachment, and every system ends up producing winners and losers. You can look at history and see that pattern everywhere.

But at the same time, I don’t think reality is only suffering and futility. I think suffering is guaranteed, yeah, but meaning is something people create in spite of that. Otherwise things like loyalty, ambition, friendship, sacrifice — none of that would matter either.

So I’d say the quote is realistic, but intentionally one-sided. It focuses on the shadow side of human nature without really acknowledging why people keep moving forward anyway.
