#[SOLVED] Can't Run Appwrite With Docker Desktop
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Is this happening right after you installed appwrite, or did this happen out of nowhere?
I have also seen a couple issues with Docker desktop running on windows. Maybe try running it with WSL backend
Just after installation
How to run with wall backend.
Any link to docs etc?
Seems like I'm not the only one that has problems wit docker 😅
I think in your case reinstalling it should solve the problem
Remember deleting everything in the appwrite folder (in the folder it was created for the first time)
Usually it's located in users>youruser (a folder called appwrite) you can delete the entire folder
Let me try but the problem is I have shifted to village and I think I wouldn't be able to install Appwrite again due to network problems
Went through this earlier but didn't worked
Tried new installation
But eventually installation stops on
Running "docker compose -f /usr/src/code/appwrite/docker-compose.yml up -d --remove-orphans --renew-anon-volums"
Ignore me in the picture
You will need to wait there for a while
Usually it takes about 3 or 4 minutes
Depends on your computer
Ok still waiting
If after 5 minutes nothing happens tell me
30 minutes is too much. It should not take more than 5 minutes
Still waiting
Then close the CMD window
In docker desktop delete appwrite image and everything related
Closed
Delete too the appwrite folder created in C://users/youruser/appwrite
Usually it's there, but could be in a different place
After that restart your computer
I deleted this earlier before this installation
Yes didn't restart
But in the docker desktop you will need too deleting the image (if not deleted)
Ok trying all this will inform
Same thing happening again
Stopped on the same place
First deleted previous image
Then deleted Appwrite folders found anywhere in system
Then restart the system and finally started installation but at the end stopped on the previous step
Help 😨
Not sure then what you should do. Wait for Steven or Jyoti to see this
I see. It seems to be more a problem with docker or WLS (windows Linux subsystem)
Ok let c
Wait for others
What's docker ps -a show?
Got through all this
All requirements are satisfied already
No in my 2nd terminal Appwirte Installation was also in progress. When previously I run isntallation it stopped on docker compose and the when ever you try to install it again it comes automatically onto the same place "docker compose"
What folder are you in when you run the install command?
c:\user\userName>
There is one thing more, I have no Linux distro installed as of now after uninstalling Docker from everywhere and deleting all Appwrite images and Directories related to Docker and Appwrite even from cache and temp, local App data. My question is should I install a specific Linux Distro prior installing docker? After installing Docker there are two Linux Distro shown, one is "Docker Desktop Data" and 2nd is "Docker Desktop".
Performed the above steps and tried to reinstall, but in the first attempt, stopped on docker-compose with some error then tried again, and after almost half and a hour saw this "Appwrite Installed Successfully"
That means it installed successfully 🤔
