#Add road signs to junctions for improved clarity
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Being lucky to be both a fan of all kinds of arcade racers and Rally sims, I have noticed that I tend to make more navigational errors in this game compared to rally sims.
I think this is caused by 3 things:
- The Co-Drive (at least the German one), even though being fun, is a bit less clear than the ones in rally sims because of his heavy accent and the fun lines he says in between
- Missing UI element that displays the next element of the track like in other Rally game (Example below)
- Me having turned on the arcade racer mindset and expecting the track to be clear in which way I have to go
Because of this I think tracks should feature road signs that make it much clearer where you actually have to drive, this is especially important for the many junctions that the tracks feature.
Ill be adding a few examples for the track "Holzberg"

Very confusing: Arrows point to the right, but I have to make a left turn at the junction
they've said for the marking in the faq that thye won't add it
lemme find it
"Will there be pace notes icons?
We are not planning to incorporate visual pace notes icons into the game. Our design philosophy revolves around the dynamic relationship between you and your Co-Pilot. Your driving style directly influences the feedback from the Co-Pilot – the better you drive, the more accurate and helpful the pace notes become. Conversely, if your driving is poor, your Co-Pilot may become annoyed and respond with criticism and snarky comments about it, potentially disrupting the flow of pace notes for the current section of the track.

roadsigns, i agree they confuse a bit but if there wasn't a rally going on they'd continue to be there
those signs are normal at least in spain in that kind of corner
usually placed in locations where knowing where you're supposed to go is a bit hard maybe because it's a steep downhill or other factors
hope this all clears out a bit of the confusion
Thanks for your feedback!
- We will be looking through all feedback in the incoming weeks.
- Pacenotes are not missing ui elements - check #✅drive-rally-faq for more.
- Road signs on road are placed like on every other normal road in their natural state without race going on. Pacenotes would be usless if we will mark every turn with big red and white arrow pointing where to go.
Those arrow signs do not look like permanent road signs. They look like temporary signs added for the rally. They have the same visual design language as the tape they are placed directly next to which is clearly intended to look like markings added for the race.
These two elements look like signage that was added for the race. If that wasn't the intent then the color of the arrow sign should be changed so they look visually separate from the race signage/tape.
they could maybe use the permanent signals i see around spain
they're usually black/light blue and white
Honestly, if the arrow signs aren't going to point in the direction of the race they probably should just be removed or replaced with a different roadside decoration.
usually arrows are there to help people locate themselves, these arrows aren't indicating a direction or any destination, maybe it would be a good idea to put where it leads too so we could understand that it's not for us, rally drivers
This is a track in Germany. I don't know about other parts of the world, but in Germany permanent road signs would never stand on wooden poles. Signs added for a racing event on the other hand would.
This is arcade game in un-realistic universe you are expecting it to be realistic like sim racing games.
There's a difference between making a fun un-realistic universe and adding iconography that is misleading to the player. Especially if your co-driver doesn't reliably give callouts for the upcoming confusing junction.
I have to agree with this suggestion here
We can't really tell where we're going without UI Directions even though our Co-Pilot tells us the directions :/
I am about to make the same complaint lol
every time I see those signs. I end up full throttle into a dead-end
or sometimes I make the unnecessary break to make a turn that's not even there
