No lore-friendly. You are not a cop, only a private detective who traspass info to the police for some money. Arrest a suspect is optional and it's in fact illegal, that's because you have to do it in their apartments and not in the streets.
Then why do they hire you out to arrest people when they behalf?
In fact, they don't hire you in a legal way, that's why you can't be at the crime scene with them. Arresting the subject is optional. And the side quests, you are "hired" by individuals so it's not legal either.
I mean, humiliating someone is not something that makes sense in that context.
No you hired by the enforce to arrest someone it say so in the game
For the arrest mission it say the department that hired you
They are still not legal at all
It's the interesting part of the game where the police can't do all the work and they have to hire private detectives to do the job for them because it's full of corruption.
How is that not legal I know in game it is not but in the context of the world and story it is. It is like saying bounty hunters are illegal because they are not cops.
Also there are no police officers or police detectives only enforces and private detectives all law in enforcement is done by corporations and private detectives
One last thing why do they pay you if it is not legal to arrest someone on their behalf. I understand that some jobs are flat out illegal like vandalism and public humiliation but the rest are a in grey zone of legality because they no actual police force that investigate crimes
