I love the game but there are two problems I think, it is incredibly easy to find fingerprints like on photos and everywhere and sometimes case name does give the killer away like "The Workplace Killer" which feels a bit like cheating

#

I also forgot to add a tag 🗿

how would you make it harder?

Just dont put any on some cases maybe like a glove

I like the glove idea. Because maybe you can find the glove. And then see if it fits the person. (jk, don't implement hand sizes or celebrity court cases, hahaha). But a glove as a non-interactable item might be a simple implementation!

I think I recall someone else suggest a sortof "partial" system.

#

As for gloves, if you can obtain them your character can theoretically flip them insideout and gather a fingerprint from within them

#

or in our case as that would be a pain to animate, just pressing the analysis button.

More like saving the developers time lol.

Though now that I think about it. There could be a "flip glove inside out" button 2hich switches it out with an inside out version and you can analyse both thonk

The problem with nerfing prints is that there is currently a complete and utter lack of motive in most cases and little where it is present. In real life, the random murder is the most difficult to solve as there is not necessarily a connection between the murderer and the victim. Thus, no leads. Motive, Means and Opportunity.

I would like to see prints nerfed only after a system of established motive for most crimes and an improvement to the questions you can ask and the answers given by witnesses and suspects.

Also other evidence like blood types would help.

Fun fact, gloves themself can leave fingerprint that can be used to identify the glove used
