I think the use of a pager could be an interesting concept. Instead of always getting your jobs from a notice board, maybe you could also have your own PI office and have clients page you their numbers/meeting location while you're out and about. The amount of clients you get and how well the jobs pay depends on your social credit level. You could eventually hire a receptionist to schedule client appointments in your office. As an official business you'd need to pay taxes but you could also launder the money you earn from your... Not so legal endeavours... Through your PI business. Building on this concept, add a bank so we can deposit/withdraw money to keep it safe from robbers and such.

Having an office with a secretary who can compile lists (like people with a name starting with H and have long black hair) over time is something I like the idea of. I also really like the idea of pacing out cases with appointments.
I think a little tweaking of how fast time travels would also help with this. I think time could be slowed way down with better time skip option like a stakeout or sleep. You should be able to sleep and instantly fast forward 6 hours or until you get a phone call or knock on the door. And the option to skip to the next time someone uses a door would be neat.
I like the idea of the office & secretary. Maybe once you get a high enough social credit you unlock the ability to purchase an office and hire a secretary, then something like making weekly payments for the office and your employee. As it stands now, maxing out your social credit and getting to retire is fairly easy. We don't have much for us to do with our money other than apartment decoration at the moment.
As for the pager I think that its a good idea too but we'll see how the devs want the technology to be in the game. If you read up on it, there's still heavy use of pneumatic tubing. I can't remember how it went exactly because I read it a few days ago but I think the vmail is actually being delivered via tube.
You can see the tubes themselves inside some of the buildings.
yes, especially in the businesses
Yeah the V-Mail system is very interesting and I wouldn't want them to take that away. But we already know normal landline telephones exist in this world and it's set during an alternate universe 1980s. I believe pagers were widely used in the 1980s. If they were to implement their version of a pager, it should be strictly one-way pagers. You'd still need to head to a phone to call the client's number or a cruncher to send off a V-Mail.
We for sure need more things to spend our money on. It would be cool if we had to pay weekly rent for the cheaper apartments or we get evicted again, like in the tutorial, and wind up in another dingy basement.
Right now though, another good use of your money is buying sync disk upgrades from Sync Clinics. they're 1k each.
I’m already swimming in upgrades because I behave like an absolute loot goblin lol
Maybe something like genetically modified carrier pigeons that are used similarly to how a pager is used, even one way.
I'm like that with diamonds because they're worth like 1-2k usually lol
