If you meant more as in "lots of people murdered in one instance" you should rename it to "Mass Murder" or "Driveby", Mass Shootings have a much more negative connotation that's just going to automatically get a thumbs down tbh

Mass Murder might work better, as some Mass Murders are done via bladed weaponry rather then gunpoint, which lends itself to how cases are generated.

I'm going to have to agree with the tonedeaf opinion. But I DO think there would be a more tactful way of approaching this concept of naked brutality.

If you were looking for something more shock and awe, I think something like arson or maybe something where a suspect sneaks into a victim's home and tamper's with the gas stove or something might be better.

From what you describe, mass shootings or mass murder feels less like grungy noir detective stuff and more like a 70s cop show with shootouts and the like.
