#Serial Killers

Other than the fact that current murderers tend to leave their card a bit too frequently, that's basically how it currently works. You'll end up having really though cases from times to times, once I had to wait for them to kill again before being able to do anything.
I feel like a ton of people would complain endlessly about it, but I'd love cases that take like actual weeks to solve
Killers that made pretty much no mistakes on their first kill, so you just leave that case up and do something else until you get another opportunity to catch them, it'd really fit that detective fantasy of that stress of a case that's really sticking with you
i had a case where the guy was bald and all the suspicious person reports had a long white haired person. Would have been nice to find a wig at his house.
i had a case where the killer literally left 0 evidence other than a fingerprint on a toy car; the first kill i didnt even notice the toy car but the second kill it was in the middle of the street. only reason i figured they were related was bc I couldnt open a second case. i had to go back and look around the entire apt of the first kill to find the toy; even then it was still difficult bc the killer was totally unrelated (though I dont use gov crunchers) so i believe what you're looking for is already implemented but would 100% love to see those kinds of cases more frequently; i think w/o finger prints it would be impossible bc of the way the world and apts are generated but with a rework of fingerprints would be great.
I had a case where I had a false lead. I was looking at footprints when I should had been paying attention to names. The killer left a calling card, an anagram. I took out a real-world notebook and started playing with the different combinations. It wasn’t till the killer killed again that I solved the anagram, found the killer’s name in both City Directory and Victim’s address book, then used a Gov Cruncher to confirm, before I solved the case. There’s the foundations for what you’re talking about for sure and it’s already pretty compelling. I’m sure it’ll get more intricate in the future 👍🏻
