Q: How many game worlds will there be?
A: BitCraft is a single massive world hosting all players.
Thanks
That wasn't my question?
it answers your question, all will be in 1 server real time
There will be many regional based servers across the globe that link up to the main server that everyone is connected to.
Ping isn't a concern as much for this type of game due to no direct combat pvp.. but the devs have yet to write a full blog explaining their decisions for server. Stay tuned.
Yes that was my question, thank you ๐ค
No actual server locations have been announced, but it'll be pretty safe to assume you'll have a node within 80-100 ping of you. ๐
here's hoping they post that server blog soon

I see, interesting way to do that, I am really curious to see how that will be realized later on. And it doesn't have to be all combat, but everything in general that isn't handled on the Client side alone. Like something that transports players maybe.
Yeah it's been heavily speculated on how it'll work
Possibly yeah, but it really depends where someone will live. But I am sure that once their blog will be released about that, it'll be cleared up clearly
The leading theory (not confirmed by devs) is that players will be auto-magically grouped with like-regions on the overall world map, and different sections of the map will be regionally hosted. So you all playing together would have good ping, but as you cross borders there may be more/less ping depending on where that region is based.
Ouuuu that would make sense
Like from what I understand, the part of the map, will be basically centered to where the most players on that part are from right? ((Hope its understandable))
Yes, that is the guess from the community, but the devs haven't confirmed or denied that
But there won't be any loading screens when you cross borders and load into a new server, it should feel seemless. No sharding/no instancing, all on the same "global server" (that's made up of a buncha smaller servers ๐คญ )
Hopefully that helps ๐
I mean it doesn't confirm anything, but it did show me ways to how this issue could be worked with, so thank you, I greatly appreciate it that you have shared the theories with me ๐ค
Ye! Hope they post an official response, 'cause i've been curious as well
I mean yeah, this does kind of answer my question, but mine was where specifically they would be located
But oh well
We'll see I suppose
No it won't. They've said they'll be doing server sharding to balance loads. I don't know if they will shard in the same data center or globally. If globally than its likely they will detect the location of the most players in a sharded area and then spin up a node closest to those players to cater to them.
just read all of Chippy's responses, my post was redundant sorry lol
i relized it before, but thanks
The servers are currently located in San Francisco, although that is subject to change as we find the best location for them
Currently players from all around the world are not having issues with ping.
We should def do a tech blog
