I can't tell if we're humans, cat-people, oni -- or something unique entirely.

The first person we meet in the trailer seems to be wearing some sort of kitsune or cat mask -- but it looks like its part of their head more than a mask.

But at 0:40, it looks like they have cat-ears.

I agree, everywhere except at 0:40 it looks like horns.

Yea it's probably a designed hood, I feel like we are an entire new species, the remannts of the ancient civilization.
