would be great if there were little optional minigames during crafting and processing
maybe to give a boost or speed it up but also just so crafting has the option to be more hands on and less start craft come back in 10-20 minutes later to click again
for those that like the grindy building but still like to be a bit more active in it

rather than turn passive activities into active ones I think I'd prefer new activities to be active. So maybe the multi-person boats people mentioned in other threads but in addition to the person driving a few people have to man the sails and put inputs in. Leaving current boats as they are but introducing a new thing that can be done more active if one so chooses. Or maybe if and when people are able to craft larger deployables the process to make those involve mini-games and such. Or dungeons for a more real example. I just know some people enjoy the passive aspect and if I was playing the game to be passive and I knew I was now going slower than everyone else as a result, I'd feel forced to play the minigames even if it killed my enjoyment.

Not to mention most of the time when you slap minigames on a passive action if just feels bad and repetitive. Whereas a thing crafted from ground up with being active in mind is likely going to feel much better.

A bad minigame is worse than there being no minigame at all.

#

A large draw of the game is that you can sit on a t1 craft for >15 minutes and not feel as though you -must- pay attention to the monitor for a long time.

#

Psychologically nudging players to be involved with it, "ooooh, you're not doing the minigames, SUBOPTIMAL" leads to burn out.

'optional minigames' keyword 'optional'

Much like the mere presence of RNG lootboxes in a game, the presence of "optional minigame to further engage in gameplay loop" is psychologically draining for many people and an insane turnoff.

@timber stone i was talking about while your doing like say a 100k carpentry a minigame to play at or what every during it rather then comeback in 10-20mins after yourr stam runs out

all buffs are optional half the time im using the 1hr bread that give no buffs

little minigames that can be turned on, somehow relative to the craft, that could maybe give a little temp craft speed boost would be pretty cool. prolly really hard to nail for anything not fishing tho lol
