If anyone wants to add this guy his IGN is Swegs he is in Region 3
LMFAO STOP and +1 it
Honestly Swegs I'm disappointed with this post
You yeah, also +1 it
My friends will not have a choice. Just like real life.
Oh nice I can add swegs
I'm gonna add swegs from R4 now
Yes it's important
We need more people in on this important conversation obviously
(not to add swegs)
LOL Jafa you nerd stop
Alternative suggestion, every accounts needs to start with having swegs friends in their friend list
How about you +1 the post instead of a horrible suggestion! x
done
THE POST, not your comment
Ooh, like a randomized list of folks to get you started in the community
ah I'm too sleepy, not random, Swegs specifically
But also Swegs can be tom from Myspace: default include for all
exactly
LOL NO WHAT
Its like this in a lot of MMOs, Just set it to Freinds and you wont get random dms
It's like "Following" on X, and you can be "Mutuals". You can set visibility to friends only, so only people you have added as friends can see your online status.
Ahhh okay that's a reasonable and fair comparison, ty x
Yeah same as runescape or guildwars 2
Unironically as a kid this kind of system helped me come to understand that it's OK to consider someone a friend even if they don't consider you one. Made social situations much more comfortable for me. Everyone has different definitions and standards for what it means to be a friend, and that I could enjoy hanging out and spending time with someone even if they didn't consider me a friend yet.
Same for me!
swegs actually made this thread so everyone would add them, making them the most friended player in the game

How will this work when BitCraft adds a permission system for things like container access, usage of claim buildings?
On houses we have to add individual players to each permission.
In some games permission system have groups like villager, kingdom, or friend.
I'm hoping this gets plugged into claim perms as well. Or at least housing perms. Likely the latter first I imagine. If only because it makes more thematic sense.
How does a group friends setting work if another player has me on their friends list. Yet I don't have them on mine?
why would that be an issue?
i think it is important to know who can access what.
isn't the idea just that you can add "my friends" as a group to a house permission level (e.g. inventory)
doesn't matter what their list has, only yours
Yeah, I think any setting built around your friends would be based on who you have added, not who has added you
A friends grouping would work if it was relative to the owner's friend list.
Though, for a container, who owns said container on a claim, the builder? Permission systems are complicated.
the claim does
friends doesn't make sense in the context of a claim
but in the future claim owners might, for example, be able to make "player lists" and assign lists to each storage
friends do make sense for a container.
idk why this was a timeout but
Custom groups would be nice.
Okay, this social setup isn't so bad then. no +1 from me on this.
I think friend's list should plug into housing. I think claims should have some sort of citizenship status that can have different perms associated with them instead
than have very granular perms, assign them to a citizenship level and than quickly hand out that citizenship with 1 click to whoever you want
LOL
