#Station Appearances

I tried to search to see if this was something that was brought forward or not but didn't seem to ping anything.

It would be really nice if as you upgrade your stations they looked different to reflect it. Even if it a simple different coloured flag that hangs, or more patterns on it or something. This would allow towns that have multiple tiers of stations to easily be able to recognize which one they need to use at a glance. It would also be great to just reflect the upgraded town feel if they were different some how.

Another small request, is that the item icons for things not to be the exact same. Such as the chitin and jackal fur for instance. They use the same picture and that gets weird in my storage.. especially since there are bunch of these things in the game.

In Alpha 3 we did have different appearances per station tier for a couple of the tier-ups and I really miss that. Not sure why they swapped it out.

For example here are shots of the Simple (t2) Smelter, Kiln, Carpentry (can't quite see it), Masonry, and the Mining Station in the background.

Tiering up felt so much more impactful.

It made the passive crafting stations so much easier to handle too. Here's a distance shot of our "wall of looms" where you can see the lower tiers on the right, the next tiers that were larger on the left, and the one we have in game now on the far left sticking out.

yeah, like the existing stations look really pretty but they feel more like t3-t5. our initial stations should be MUCH rougher to reflect other t2 buildings like chests and walls and the fact that we're just getting started making civilisation from scratch

all of the crafting stations we currently have in the game are what used to be the t5 versions of them. there used to be 3 different versions:

  • T1-2 were the smallest and looked the most rough
  • T3-4 were slightly bigger and looked a bit more refined
  • T5-6 were the largest and most refined versions of all the models
#

in each of those variants, the higher tier of it had slightly darker colouring to help distinguish it

#

my guess as to why all the models are the same now is because they added the coloured flags to the models to help distinguish them for players that get lost in the ancient starter town. but they didn't have time to add the flags to less advanced models and didn't know how to add them in a way that looked alright given how small and simple they are

#

but that would not be a convincing reason in my opinion, truth is that I don't understand why they removed the rougher models

#

in fact, I think the included flags on all the stations is largely unnecessary and doesn't really help guide players to those stations

#

i would much prefer a system where you could subsection your claim and mark certain areas on the map

I just want -something- to make them stand out and allow the effort that is needed to upgrade them be reflected on some level. Having my town not really change all through the tiers feels, not wonderful with the massive grind.

it would be nice to have different skins or styles you could choose, along with each station starting off looking rough and getting more refined each tier

#

when I first played bitcraft in the alpha tests, one of the things that made upgrading our claims tier exciting was finding out how cool the new more refined stations would look

#

now everyone just starts with the most refined stations and there's nothing to be excited about
