#Ideas for planting trees

A big complaint with tree seeds right now is that trees can't be planted outside of region, so what's the point?
I had a few ideas to keep the game balance and require constant effort.
If they want to force biome specific planting, then you should either be able to plant trees with a big debuff to growth times and yields, or allow us to terraform spots that we can plant trees on that become "uprooted" and reset to base after the tree is cut down. Or change recipees for trees, and make biome specific materials required to make the saplings you can plant, implying you have already set the plant up in a way for it to thrive no matter where it is set.

Anyway, those are my ideas.

The point is you can be a bit creative and setup plantations near or on your claim so you can quickly gather without having to fight off jakyls or travel long distances. My team has found it very convenient to have dozens of T2 trees grouped together.

It will also come into its full power with higher level trees that are generally super rare. The seeds will be worth a fortune since you will be able to gain a significant advantage by replanting them.

We also setup a claim near Snowy Peak region and we can plant dozens of trees right up the border between regions, so we don’t have to freeze to death harvesting them.

Upkeep would be important for non-native plants/trees. Some might require extra fertilizer or water, while others might require something specific from their home region. Decay would mean reduced/negligible output until restored. Thinking orchids or bonsai, more attention than native.

I think a fix to consider would just be that any planted tree doesn't yield seeds if you decide to cut it down. That way you'd still need to go out and find the seeds from the native biome. That way you can plant a tree for the looks or to farm and it would be a single-use item once it's in the ground.
