#XP for 80 sailing

I mean, the game currently ends at t10 so it taking months to hit t8 in an mmo that will have zero resets on release seems logical to me. I also assume those months include tasks?
you also get XP for turning task in with Svim, that progressively give more gold and XP
It is way undertuned they said as much, 80 takes 6500 hours 100 takes 48000 hours by sailing. Quests do not give that much

Unless the tasks begin to give tens of thousands of XP each time they're only shaving a few half hours of sailing off a day. And it's not months of gameplay, months of non-stop never ending XP grind. That's years of gameplay
No one wants to wait that long for fun
if the game isn't fun till sailing 80 that's the real problem
I didn't realize that the level would carry past a wipe but it still seems odd that it would be almost functionally impossible for a thing to be tested before release
people unashamedly macroing sailing xp even when the rates are this low, its funny the risks people take for such low rewards
im glad the devs added at least some extra way to get Svim xp, but theres got to be a better way, and i hope they remove the xp gained from sailing altogether
I imagine there might be a juiced end period before release to test higher stuff
I wouldn't mind the suggestion of removing the sailing xp if a better method can be introduced. Also I wasn't saying the botting bit as in I would do it, I'm pointing out that if you can't achieve something without cheating, it's not good

Of course you should gain sailing xp from....sailing. it just needs to be 5x or so
yeah im sure going back and forth over the same patch of shallow water is really educational
I'd rather get sailing in a way that isn't running in circles for hours personally
it's 2745 for lvl 40 tasks, 3840 for lvl 50, 5380 at 60, 7530 at 70
If it was 5x or whatever nobody would macro it
maybe exploring new sea tiles could give sailing instead to tie it to ships if we want actually sailing to be main source of sailing xp
continues up to 20660 by 100 tho that's not relevant for the cargo ship ig
if it's anything similar to Brico Task, the XP will increase.

FWIW, the "xp for movement" system existed already since the demo (and since thus skills), it was just set to 0 until they turned it on. it's obviously just something that was considered and is implemented as a stopgap until the skill systems are more fleshed out. voxel has already discussed that they want to make better ways of getting xp than just sailing around.
