I like grinding for rarities on tools/weapons, but I feel like the system should be tweaked a bit. As it stands, every new tier increases your tools power by 1, but a rarity upgrade increases it by 4. I feel like this needs to be reworked because upgrading to a newer material and more advanced weapon should be the base of power upgrades. Although, over a huge craft 1 extra power is good, it still feels like a slap in the face and makes it feel like if your tool is not the highest rarity than it is very sub optimal.
I propose something more linear:
Every tier increases power by +2
Every rarity corresponds with a power increase equal to the rarity. Such as:
Uncommon= +1 power
Rare= +2 power
Epic= +3 power and so on and so forth.
(The rarity system could also just stay as it, but the power from each tier can be improved)
This is obviously just an example and by no means perfect, but I feel like the tier of the weapon, tool, or armor should be a bigger part in what it provides instead of the rarity being the focus. A rarity in my eyes is an added bonus and should not be the main factor in stuff. Or maybe make it so that each rarity gives a cool bonus or something. I think this will give people more motivation to grind out those higher tier things and feel more rewarded with even more powerful tools. Thank you!
