Possible future perks for progressing the skill:
- Faster movespeed for cart/wagon.
- Lower aggro range for hostile animals
- Dismantle animals in the wild ( possibly set up a temporary hunter camp as a deployable?)
General balance suggestions:
- Cleaning pelts should give hunting exp to have it keep up with leatherworking better
- Add tracking for animals
- Higher tier bows should have better damage in order to keep up with increased animal HP.
The reasoning is the increased materials needed while animals give the same amount of materials, only leading to vast increases in time spent hunting, which naturally decreases time available for other activities such as keeping up with vendor quests for better boats/carts and other skill upgrades. As such, hunter mains being away far longer than any other profession suffer a lack of equal progression. I get that the settlement can help, but some autonomy would be nice.
related suggestion:
- Add trapping animals (hunters) and animal husbandry ( new profession or farmers?) to farm animals at the settlements?
