#The grind at t2 and beyond feels overwhelming for the average player (which is who you should want)

To add to this, I cant run another game on my main screen because as soon as I tab out bitcraft just starts to die because its using 70-80% of my gpu and Cpu for some reason.

However, the grind gets harder. Significantly harder. Halfway to 100 is level 93, not 50. This is what people want, grind games, we're tired of the hand holding world games.

and yes the current funnel up system and f2p model massively incentivises botting and RWT, I'm not convinced that spacetimeDB is going to give an anti-botting team (assuming they have one) a considerable advantage against large scale bot farms with such a high incentive to mass produce t1+t2 stuff and flood hexcoins into the economy via trader tasks

U are supposed to do something else while getting extra dopamine. Try something different, I like playing the violin or composing music while AFKing.

Everyone is rushing right now to build up things as fast as they can and that can lead to burnout. I think once there is a stable market/economy it'll all be great because it means you can buy the things you need and selling the materials you make will actually be needed and sell. If you want to do everything yourself have at it but this is a game where its a enjoy the chill and be along for the ride. Not try to get lvl 100 in everything in a week

my biggest gripe is not that the grind is "too much", i love the grind, its that it mostly equates to being AFK, with few options for multi-tasking / parallel crafts, or options for people who arent physically by their computer all day to progress

This game is a Idle Crafting/Gathering MMO. For exception of some professions like fishing and hunting that you need to actually do something and yes majority of your time will be sitting in front of some stations and watch a progression go back and forth 80% of the time.

would be more fun if crafting locks your ability to craft but you can still move or do stuff like logistics

#

But again, if you like to mvoe around, there are some skills like logistics, exploring and hunting that can lead to more activity related things

the average person isn't going to look at this game free or paid and be like "yeah this is a good use of my time".
Correct. This game is not designed for the 'average person'. It's very clearly intended to be a niche grind-a-thon for people who like that kind of thing. Not every game needs to be designed to be accessible to everyone. Also, runescape exists and has hundreds of thousands of daily players and that game is also just a social grind-a-thon; and people still go out of their way to play the game on ironmade mode and make it even grindier. So, yeah, there's quite a large niche for this kind of game actually.

If t2 is this bad, I dont think I want to even see T3 grind
This isn't on the developers, this is on you and your friends. There is no endgame. This isn't like WoW where you need to rush to max level so you can play the 'real game'. So if you guys rushed too hard and burned yourself out, that was your choice. A habitual choice drilled into your heads from years of playing other games... but still your choice.

"Well if I spend time building roads and exploring, that's time wasted that could be used for crafting or gathering thus making me fall way behind the curve". See right here is the problem. What curve? Where other players have progressed? Why does this matter? There are no high scores, and the only PVP is no-consequence dueling and Empires which are entirely cosmetic. There is no curve. You've created this scenario in your head that if you don't no-life this game hard enough that somehow you've lost. You haven't.

Also, if they make the grind easier - it's easier for everyone meaning that all those other people who are 'ahead' of you in the supposed 'curve' will still be ahead of you. It doesn't matter if it takes 5 minutes or 5 hours to make a building, it will be the same for everyone which means the team who can dedicate the most man hours will always win.

AFK sit at a bench watching the time tick by as I slowly die in real life by aging.
These are the things I've done crafting in Bitcraft:

  • Done my job
  • Demoed a couple walls in the basement to prepare for a renovation
  • Cooked dinner (multiple times)
  • Worked out (multiple times)
  • Sharpened my chef's knives
  • Cleaned House
  • Did laundry
  • Watched TV
  • Played other games

There are plenty of things you could be doing during those long afk crafts - if you've chosen to sit there and just watch the progress bar tick over, that's on you. Learn to crochet, or sew, or play an instrument, or whittle. Grind your skills in real life while you grind in game XD

I think you are just uninformed about the possibilities of a solo player. Personally I made 5k yesterday just selling T2 rope.
