#How does tool rarity work?

I dont now that much either but every time you upgrade your tools or armor (not rings) you have a 10% (?) chance to increase its rarity by one. Common t2 tools have 11 power whereas uncommon have 14. That is roughly a 27% production increase. As I've heard higher rarities will give some bonuses but not as much as common -> uncommon or uncommon -> rare.
Legendary or mythical will most likely be twice as strong as common ones
oh nice
If you use an increased rarity tool when crafting does that set the baseline rarity? So an uncommon tool when upgraded will not go down to a common upgraded tool? It will stay an uncommon tool or will increase in rarity?
Yup! Tools currently can't go down in quality.
Excellent. That’s a good design choice.
I was going to ask if the Ferralith tools can get increased rarity but I think I've answered my own question. There is only one output option for the Ferralith tools and weapons, a Common rarity item. While the Pyrelite tools have two possible outputs, Common and Uncommon.
2 out of 12 of my Pyrelite Tools came out as Uncommon, but I'm 3 out of 3 for Uncommon Pyrelite Weapons.
@weary star In the Dev stream, they said "for it stay common until tier 10, it has to roll 70% 9 times in a row". Or something like that. Means, for Uncommon its a 30% chance. Which is in scope of what i head and tested myself.
Thank you for this visual I wasn’t sure how far the quality could go and how early on you could get it
in 82 T2 craft in total, I hit uncommon 9 times.
47 out of 82 is the same piece. so it took me 48 craft until i get 1 uncommon once
your personal luck doesn't really mean much about overall rates
yeah, i gave it as personal stat
ok, as long as you're not claiming that has any bearing on the 30% figure
yeah i am not retarted dw
I made 5 t2 tools and 1 weapon, weapon was uncommon and 1 tool was uncommon
We typically shy away from the "you've lost progress due to bad RNG" design philosophy found in many MMOs
BDO players blowing up a 1.5bil gp accessory for a 1% chance to get a 15bil gp accessory be like
I did consider adding a way to opt into having a chance at blowing up your armor/tool for an increased chance at success through scholar or some other profession when we were setting all of this up at one point. Decided against it really early on 😄
So we are not 100% sure that there will be a 30% chance to increase the rarity from uncommon -> rare?
Since I have read somewhere that mythics will be 1:1000 or 1:10000 and with a fixed 30% chance to increase rarity,
mythics will be ~7% at tier 10. Which is way too high imo (please double check the math)
