okay.
get a flint fishing rod from the tutorial and then find your nearest body of water.
you're looking for moonlit crawdads.
fish them (a lot.)
take them back to the fishing bench, turn them into products. You'll get bait and shells.
bait is used to fish bigger fish (breezy fin darter)
you can then turn them into chum for oceanfish
or into products (fish oil and filet)
