#Why are the players not rewarded for upgrading their carts?

I've grinded out a Large Cart mostly as a solo player, and if all you do is carry cargo it's a complete waste of time.

The Large Cart (which requires 3 REFINED Tier 3 planks (so you need 30 farming, cooking, masonry, forraging, carpentry and woodcutting to make)) still only holds 20 cargo slots (two stacks of 10).

Upgrading the carts only increase the inventory spaces.

What's the logic behind this? What incentive do I have to upgrade my cart past an improved cart if I only need it to carry cargo?

We'll be balancing/updating the deployables throughout the alpha. No particular design intent behind not getting additional cargo.

So that's not intended?

I don't believe so.

just an idea, and i think this would be a good place for it, how about increasing the cargo "depth". so for advanced carts, instead of 2 stacks of 10 cargo, make it 12-15. and increase cargo space and still keep it at 2 slots. since the upgrades are that expensive, it would make it worth a gatherer's time this way.
maybe something similar with rafts/skiffs
