#Typescript to Rust Transition

My reaction exactly
I can't fathom how they were doing the backend in Typescript
yeah
When I read it at first I thought it was just dyslexia taking over
Obviously there isn't as much in the Rust ecosystem, but I've got a feeling so far the rest of it's strong-suits has made their switch all the worth it.
I have a feeling going rust was the right call lol
I'm sure typescript can handle a lot, but that's pretty wild for a MMO ðŸ¤
Typescript is cool if you don't really need scale, and your project isn't too ambitious, as soon as you need to handle big loads or have massive but also organized code bases... HAH
even I can say switching from typescipt on my relatively small project has been a super smooth and very worth while experience
But then again, I'm not sure which lang is more hip and hot, rust or typescript
Js do be hype lately
Oh Typescript is all the rage with the youngins lol
If you ain't js'ing are you really even doing it right?!
Feels like all jobs nowadays are js
I'm just the mad old boomer tryna use php and .net
F
Yeah, if you want to just get into the industry, JS it is, it does help though that there is so much you can do with it.
Reminds me of my one professor, man used the LAMP stack like a boss
We love lamps
Lamps are the goat
honestly
i feel like unity would suit this game best
just my opinion
physics engine
networking
shaders
I think they are using Unity
so they're using rust and unity
Yeah unity for the client and Rust for the backend
unity has a perfectly good C# language on its own
oh, THAT makes a lot more sense
