Meanwhile we are told we know Shorekeeper and Camellya and that we are supposed to care for them but my issue is the lack of chemistry and depth.
Shorekeeper in that entire patch is just "I trust you Rover" while being utterly isolated from the Black Shores staff or hell Aalto. I do get that she was busy as hell dealing with the Tethys System's bullshit but I always felt that the Black Shores as a faction are fragmented outside of Aalto and Encore.
I do get Camellya's isolation because she's prone to overclocking and her overclocking is eldritch horror manifest.
What turns me off is that they put so much emphasis on how both Shorekeeper and Camellya love Rover (down to the marketing) that you don't organically feel that way. I wanna learn about them and fall in love on my own.
I like Rinascita but even that right now struggles with chemistry. The writers are starting to cook hard with character interactions and not needing to be around Rover 24/7. But I want the cast to interact more with each other without Rover.
