I already mentioned it before but I get why 1.0 was rushed dogshit because of the rewrites going haywire and veering too far into making Rover worshipped.
My issue with 1.1 and 1.3 were the degree of the Master-Love trope seeping in especially with Shorekeeper. I don't mind 1.1 because the story was kinda neat but I wish Jinhsi was more interesting because she didn't stand out too much for me beyond her interesting relationship with Jue (Personal nitpick I guess) and felt like the reveal at the end was too early in the story but they needed a hook for players so I don't mind.
1.3 however was a case of fantastic visuals disappointing story. Shorekeeper's concept as AI granted sentience and emotions through you the player and that coming to blows with a purely logical evil AI is nice and all but the execution was not good at all when Shorekeeper ends up being the most extreme version of Master Love made manifest.
Compare that to Rinascita where every character and every faction stands out, have their own goals and agenda independent of Rover, and can come to blows with Rover.
