I was messing around with my garden when I noticed that i couldn't put the sprinkler on that one specific spot even though there is enough space for it. Other stuff works fine, as in the video.
I haven't tried with any other furniture tho so there may be another one with the same problem.

that wouldn't explain the problem since farmland are also 2x2 and there is enough space for it

Farmland is locked to a grid layout that is one off from the edge of the decoration grids, hence why there’s a discrepancy even though there’s available space
Eg if you try to place farmland against the edge of the map, it won’t let you, even though there’s enough space
