Drag-and-Drop Planting Is Not Where User Is Touching

As seen in the attached video, when attempting to drag-and-drop seeds, the seed bag and the crop tiles it interacts with are off from where the user is touching. My best guess, the seed planting interactions are being off-centered by the Android navigation bar.

This is not a bug, they changed the way the finger offset works

the offset just ensures ur finger doesnt block where you are placing it

Yeah, I can see how some users might like that. I've been planting with a stylus recently and really enjoying it, but it feels pretty awkward for furniture/seeds to be hovering way above my stylus on screen.

That would be great. Being able to manually adjust the offset in settings would be a great adjustment too - who knows if someone has extra large fingers and needs more offset than others.

I really don't like the offset and thought it was a bug. Shame to see it isn't 😕

cuz most players dont know what it's for and are adjusting it to try to tap eggs better + you cant adjust it in the decoration mode too so it was quite bad, would rather its standardized

Yes but before the update, no one complained about it. Now we are, it so annoying not to be able to customize it

stylus input has 0 offset, and moving an already placed object also has 0 offset

I can see how the offset would be beneficial when you’re moving furniture/decorating, but when you’re planting crops, it’s really frustrating trying to make sure they’re planted in the right spot

I don’t use a stylus but I still would prefer no offset

also i understand that the planting is still an issue but i think the better fix is to do proper seed planting instead.

@analog parrot The finger offest is significantly more reasonable. I have noticed two things:

1. When using a stylus, an offset is still applied when dragging furniture/seeds from the left-side inventory menu. When picking up and moving furniture already placed, there is no offset when using the stylus.
2. There may be a difference in offset when using your finger depending on if you are moving already placed furniture on your property versus dragging it from your left side menu directly.

what type of stylus are you using, ive tried it with an apple pencil and theres no offset

hmm i dont have an s pen so ill have to check how to fix that

also for point 2, you can drag anywhere when selecting furniture

the thing that was changed was to remove an additional float offset when moving furniture that way

i think that was a bug lol wasnt supposed to do that

It's honestly only a minor issue since it only occurs specifically when dragging furniture from the side menu. I tried to capture a screenshot/recording for you that shows the offset with a stylus, but sadly my screen capture isn't capturing the debug tools that always show where the stylus is touching on the screen.

also regarding seeds, i will solve it by just doing quick planting UX, like how you place plots

yeah thats the only point where theres a default offset

but it should be zero with stylus, so i guess its just not working with s pens
