I was thinking that maybe it would be a good idea to add more colors for our gecko. Like, different species. Obviously not the same behavior as the species in our reality (because it would be a headache to code it), but more options about "colour patterns".

Maybe one with circular patterns, others with spots, and others just a flat color. I imagine our gecko is a crested gecko.

Anyways, just a suggestion about the appearance of our little Gecko!

Estaba pensando en que sería una buena idea agregar más colores para nuestro gecko. Tipo, diferentes especies. Obviamente sería un cambio de apariencia, ya que si se ponen analizar cada especie en nuestra realidad para "recrear" sus costumbres, sería un dolor de cabeza llevarlo a código. Pero habrían más opciones con respecto a los "patrones de colores".

Uno que tenga patrones circulares, otro con manchas, blanco, negro, celeste, dorado y etcétera. Intuyo que nuestro gecko es un gecko crestado. Por el color anaranjado más que nada.

Y eso es todo! Sólo una sugerencia sobre la apariencia de nuestro pequeño gecko! Y que sea, claro, totalmente aleatorio.

Maybe just different colouring could do - it might depend on how coloring layers work on their end?

it would still be a pain to edit every single frame for the gecko, speaking as an animator myself. yes things like clipping masks and working on different layers exists, but nonetheless they would need to re-color every little drawing of the gecko since everything is hand drawn. copy and pasting the design also isn't really feasible (and is also still incredibly tedious) because the gecko has more than one position or angle it's in.

in short: it would be a pain either way, no matter how you try to do it. and i don't think it would really make sense story-wise either...

just look at all of the animations for the gecko and imagine yourself tediously editing every single one of those drawings (estimated 3-5 drawings for every animation). doesn't sound very appealing, does it?

Oof yikes - assumed it would be a simpler process, like assign a different color to the one used and it could be done automatically 😰

Thought that once the animation was done they wouldn't need to revise the frames all over again 😥
