without considering the soviet union, which in your opinion was the worst to live under and why?

#

no i've done without the USSR

cause otherwise people could just say "yeah stalin"

I dont think Honecker was nearly as bad as Ceaușescu or Hoxha. The former one was brutal but at least those actions were not done with no reason behind them. Meanwhile the later two especially in their later years acted very much on the vim or without rationale.

at least ceausescu had the decency to get overthrown and die

yeah but he didn't get shot on national television he died of old age

Ceasescu I'd say

#

Not sure where Honecker did specifically to warrant alot of condemnation? I mean wouldn't Ulbricht be ranked higher for building the wall?

Brezhnev was a weak imitation of Stalin.

-Enver Hoxha, 1982

#

Anyway, I’d note that Ceasescu only ruled for ~24 years. Hoxha ruled for 41.

#

His government’s rule also did not end with him, as the ACP remained in power for 6 years after his death.

#

In Romania the successors to the communist party are essentially powerless. In Albania they have been ruling since 2013 and are one of the two main parties

#

So Hoxha could be worse because his grip on the country lasted for many, many decades

Are we judging on brutality and deaths or just length of rule?

#

I don't see where some figures like Honecker even get close to being "worst"
