I feel like having the ability to rename mods inside the mods menu could help with navigation in some way. Some users may have a name for a mod that make it more sense for them or its easier to type.
U could always also just reset the name for the mod if you don't want it.

Renaming them is a good idea, I would also like to be able to put mods into folders and be able to enable/disable whole folders at once. I might suggest that.
