I am suggesting that Malayalam is added to Lunar Client, first as one of the options during application for the Translator position, and, once enough work has been done by these volunteers, as an option for players to use in the actual game.
Reasoning 🗣️
This is a very commonly spoken language (30+ million speakers, far surpassing other languages which have been added to Lunar like Bulgarian), and as India further develops, this will become more of a market to tap into.
Technical Stuff ⌨️
Although Malayalam does not use the script of the Romance languages, this is of course not a requirement of being a Lunar Client language, as seen in languages like Hindi. The Malayalam script has Unicode blocks for all of the letters, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue to add in.
Conclusion 🙏
There will be a need for translators before this can be done, but at least make it an option in the translator applications so people can start working on it. I personally would be very much willing to volunteer if it were added, as I am fluent in the language and have experience speaking it in both professional and casual contexts.
