#Tiers System

Elo in sw3 only shows a users ability to dominate the meta, without showing any actual skill. A tier system would fix the leaderboard by only showing the most capable players at the top. Tier systems reward those who excel at multiple playstyles. Let's say you are the #1 shadowjug vamp user (who doesn’t play anything else). But another guy is around #5 in 8 different decks, the guy who excels at the most categories is the highest ranked player, not the guy who excels at one deck. This would effectively get the playerbase to try multiple decks, rather than stick to one powerful deck forever. The meta would shift from a few decks being dominant to all decks being more popularized.

HT1 being the highest rank and LT5 being the lowest rank.
A sw3 tier system could be separated into 14-18 decks. Ranking up in a tier uses the elo system but only for that one deck. HT1: 30 points, LT1: 22 points, HT2: 15 points, LT2: 10 points, HT3: 6 points, LT3: 5 points, HT4: 4 points, LT4: 3 points, HT5: 2 points, LT5: 1 points. I also created a “small” scale representation of this system: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/13BBD3cQJwxS-woQYMuTxCF3wGIaqXGR3ICaPNRL9oGA/edit?slide=id.g393e4f2918b_0_0#slide=id.g393e4f2918b_0_0 The following numbers show the percentage of active players that would get each tier: 0.1% HT1, 0.4% LT1, 1.2% HT2, 3% LT2, 6.4% HT3, 9.6% LT3, 13.1% HT4, 17% LT4, 22% HT5, 27.2% LT5. Instead of the current elo decay system, if you are LT2+ and you keep your tier for 30 days you are able to retire your tier (50 days for HT1). Meaning if you never continue playing ranked with that deck again, you get to keep your tier forever, but it's displayed as retired. Any tier LT2+ that is unretired can be susceptible to rank decay. If your tier is HT3- you don't get rank decay, and your tier cannot be considered retired. Most of this information is based off MCTiers: https://mctiers.com/rankings/overall

No elo system in community, just tiertesting against players of a higher/same rank, and then the tiertester decides if they rank up or down
