LORE
Leader of the Silverhearts. Sten was born into a bloodline of blacksmiths and learned to forge swords as a teenager. Though incredibly young, he was among the first to answer his nation's call to arms when the Order Empire attempted to seize their land and technology. After their initial defense failed, he and his people were driven from their home. A subsequent ambush to reclaim their territory also met with disaster. With the few survivors he could gather, Sten led them to a lush forest bordering a mountain range, where they founded a new colony.

Some years after the First Great War, the Second Great War erupted. During this conflict, Sten was discovered and contracted by Lavish of the Majestic Mafia. In exchange for silver, Sten and his colony agreed to defend Lavish’s mines from the recently settled Borderland Flamefeeders led by Wrathnar in the southwest. The abundance of precious metal rekindled Sten’s passion for smithing, and with the first shipment, he forged the magnificent silver greatswords he wields to this day. It was the forging of these powerful and durable weapons that earned Sten and his company the name ‘Silverhearts’. Despite being made of silver, the blades possessed an unnatural resilience and never dulled with use. Their immense weight, however, proved that Sten had reinforced them far beyond necessity, sacrificing convenience for overwhelming power; this is why most soldiers in his company can barely wield a single greatsword. Although the Silverhearts shared a tense and violent border with the Borderland Flamefeeders, open conflict between the two groups never broke out.

Later, while King Zarek was on a quest for treasure across Inamorta, he was incapacitated and forced to reside in Castle Iris. His brother, Zilaros, then set forth to complete the scavenger hunt in his stead. During this time, the Order Empire's advance forced Lavish to halt his mining operations, cutting off the Silverhearts' silver payments. The Silverhearts might have been able to intervene, but they arrived too late, as imperial troops already occupied the mines. It was only when a man named Bacton reached out to Sten and struck a deal that the Silverhearts finally raised their swords directly against the Order Empire.

By joining Bacton’s plot against the crown, Sten and his mercenary company attempted to assassinate Zilaros and massacre Order’s forces as they crossed the Great Bridge to Castle Iris. The assassination attempt failed, but Order suffered heavy casualties in the struggle. Near the end of the war, Sten stood at the forefront of the mercenary coalition to welcome the onslaught of Order Empire troops who dared to challenge him and his comrades.

Zarek's Map goes until Chapter 7. This campaign is a set of bonus levels (technically a Chapter 8) and for each of the levels you receive two tech points instead of one. You only get to fight Sten in the final level of the Bacton Campaign, where you'd have been amped up with the new cards (which we'll be showcasing later) and perks.

#

The final battlefield is also really large in scale, so the HP is the least worrying thing compared to everything else.

safe wagon
#

that is like 6 more levels

signal tundra
safe wagon
#

the first chapter of the order campaign had 6 levels

not every chapter has an equal amount of levels i realised

#

6 is just the maximum

signal tundra
#

Mhm!

#

To be fair, these missions are fairly long and have two phases.

safe wagon
#

are the new units overpowered to compensate for all the other crazy stuff?

signal tundra
#

The final mission will have approx 15 or 20 minutes of playtime

safe wagon
#

the Silver Captain at least deals 50 damage which is the highest single damage output. and he can do more

From here on out, any illustrations/animations I post are done by either or both of these two, unless I myself say otherwise. With that said, I won't have to keep pinging them (unless they don't mind it).

#

Anyway, what's quirky about the Argegis is that I didn't give it a classification (Light or Heavy), so it only receives flat damage when its hit.

#

It could just be the tankiest human unit.

#

||You only encounter these guys in the final mission.||

fossil jacinth
#

Yo

safe wagon
#

no weightclass so they have their own training queue

#

so it's a constant stream of generals every 15 seconds

signal tundra
signal tundra
#

Instead, enemy units appear in patterns or waves.

#

The very first wave of the final mission starts with 4 Argegis units confronting you.

fossil jacinth
#

Flawless balancing and post feelmywrath

safe wagon
#

so just ambush level with a statue to destroy

signal tundra
#

Crazy, right?

safe wagon
#

so just ambush levels with a boss to defeat

fossil jacinth
signal tundra
safe wagon
#

so just order campaign level 6 in ambush style

safe wagon
fossil jacinth
signal tundra
fossil jacinth
#

Frfrfr

signal tundra
#

The battlefield itself is a hazard.

fossil jacinth
safe wagon
#

seeing the "regular units" having the stats of generals i hope the player units have a way to fight them without dying a hundred times

signal tundra
#

Certain units are receiving new or reworked abilities, and possibly some passives to give them an edge.

#

Atreyos will be appearing in this campaign and he's receiving a major skill.

safe wagon
#

i guess the base game units are just unusable basically

signal tundra
safe wagon
#

unusable as in having little to no impact

#

without special reworks at least

signal tundra
#

The only problem with my posts is that whoever's reading them only has knowledge about the Order Campaign. On the other hand, I know everything about this project, including how strong the player will be.

The enemy will only be slightly or moderately stronger than the player at all times.

signal tundra
safe wagon
#

indeed

signal tundra
#

I designed this campaign to appease veteran players seeking a challenge.

safe wagon
#

right guy is order left guy is silverheart legion

signal tundra
#

Left guy is Sten whenever he uses an ability (invulnerability)

safe wagon
#

i had a campaign level idea that's just a reverse ambush with two ways to lose

either lose your general or run out of time

signal tundra
#

You lose if you run out of time (Zilaros dies).

fossil jacinth
#

Kill zilly

signal tundra
#

The third level would have the closest thing you could get to having a statue

#

But not quite

#

That's my hint.

safe wagon
#

so it's a general that is not allowed to die

signal tundra
safe wagon
#

the word general is very loose then

fossil jacinth
#

Take a peekie at this leakie

signal tundra
#

Real supporters would be able to tell who that is

fossil jacinth
#

Yes

safe wagon
#

is that Bacton's version of Clicky

signal tundra
signal tundra
safe wagon
#

Atreyos in level 35 of the campaign has boss health
which is around 1,500hp

signal tundra
#

By playable, I'd mean if he were intended for Multiplayer (PvP)

safe wagon
#

so multiplayer atreyos before his stat rework

signal tundra
#

I suppose so.

#

Did you get to see the Sylvan Saint Kestral showcase?

safe wagon
#

no

signal tundra
#

That post has the playable (PvP) version of Kestral, the boss version is still getting tweaked.

safe wagon
#

an overpriced Kytchu

safe wagon
safe wagon
#

So everyone is surpassing Lunarclops now

signal tundra
#

This is in terms of gameplay to scale with player upgrades and tech, not lorewise.

safe wagon
#

These bosses are the replacements for enemy statue I guess

signal tundra
#

The bosses need a high HP stat to keep up with the player.

safe wagon
#

JUST HOW MUCH DID YOU BUFF THE BASE UNITS

signal tundra
#

...

#

Did you read the upgrades?

signal tundra
#

Let me explain how Blitz works.

#

Blitz Lv. 1 makes any attack from a friendly unit deduct a % of the target's current HP.

#

The first hit Kestral receives from any friendly unit deals 100 damage due to Blitz, on top of their attack stat.

#

E.g. Archidons deal 13 damage.

safe wagon
#

Muster is just the Weightclass build queue cranked up

Blitz just nullifies bosses if it just takes 100 hits

Fortitude is just Armory that removes your weightclass

signal tundra
#

So if an Archidon shot Kestral while she was at 10,000 HP with Blitz Lv. 1, she'd have 9,887 HP.

safe wagon
#

1% of 10,000

#

How much is that

signal tundra
#

100

#

It compounds

signal tundra
#

If the Archidon shot her again, this would be her next HP.

safe wagon
#

I see you corrected the number

#

And you just lost me again

signal tundra
#

Yes... Yes I did.

#

Alright, so Blitz Lv. 1 takes away 1% of the target's CURRENT HP everytime they are hit by a friendly unit.

signal tundra
safe wagon
#

Decimal health

signal tundra
#

I fixed it

signal tundra
safe wagon
#

.13

signal tundra
#

If it's 9,775.13 then it's just 9,775

#

It rounds to the closest whole number.

#

An Archidon can deal this much damage to Kestral in two shots with Blitz Lv. 1

safe wagon
#

2% + 25

signal tundra
#

Where's the 25 from?

safe wagon
#

2% of 10,000 is 200

signal tundra
#

Ah, I see.

#

I thought you were trying to calculate Blitz Lv. 2

Description

A low health, Light, Magic Unit of the Order Empire. Uses spellcasting to create powerful area of effect spells and summon minions.

Abilities

Summons a magical Melee minion.

A powerful area of effect explosion that stuns impacted Units.

+1 Minion Spawn Limit

signal tundra
#

I forgot how much damage Minions deal, but I'm pretty sure it's 5.

#

If a Minion (with Blitz Lv. 1) were to hit Sten, Sten's HP would be brought down to 49,495.

50,000 - 1% - 5

signal tundra
safe wagon
#

I tried calculating 10 hits against sten

He would be left with 45169

without additional damage it would be 45219

signal tundra
#

The player is absolutely busted, aren't they?

safe wagon
#

But against lower health units like the Silverhearts it would do a lot less

signal tundra
#

Blitz's effects only wear down when the HP is low

signal tundra
#

I'm really liking this convo because you actually know what you're talking about, and you're willing to understand the campaign mechanics.

safe wagon
ruby spear
#

Oh god blitz would only make sickles more op

safe wagon
#

The trick to fight bosses is just swarm them in the beginning and then stronger unis when their health is low

#

Sicklewrath are somewhat a swarm card

signal tundra
safe wagon
safe wagon
#

So then first start with Muster 1 and then Blitz 2

signal tundra
#

Muster is mostly forced in the last stage because of the...situation.

The numbers themselves are insane

signal tundra
#

Gameplaywise Lunarclops is already a pushover

ruby spear

He is basically ramiel from evangelion

safe wagon

#

#

Explanations for Infuse & Capitalize:
Infuse - Snow Squall lasts for 15 seconds and slows units inside by 60%. With Lv. 1 of Infuse, Snow Squall's duration is increased to 18 seconds and its slowness effect is amplified to 72%.
Capitalize - This upgrade reduces the cost on everything, including other upgrades. You could think of it as a better Brilliance. One might not see the potential of this upgrade yet, but remember that this campaign has no miners - it's a completely different economic system.

#

-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-
With all that aside, which doctrine are you grabbing first when you enter battle? I'd like to know your opinions on what you'd think would be the most powerful and weakest. Your input helps me a lot.

safe wagon
#

Capitalize is very tempting for early game

so i would start with the levels of Capitalize and Muster
when it comes to fighting the bosses Blitz is vital

the first three doctrines are always my go to afterwards
if i have spells then Infuse will also be upgraded

signal tundra
signal tundra
safe wagon
#

is that situation against the archer mercenary?

signal tundra
safe wagon
#

ah so
kinda like Öflugur's tornado attack

signal tundra
#

Heavy Impact knockbacks units twice or thrice the distance that a Giant would

#

Against Sten, I'd be drooling over Infuse and Blitz.

safe wagon
#

the Silverhearts is the final level so of course he would be the most difficult

#

so the fast hitters have to keep their distance or go behind him?

signal tundra
signal tundra
safe wagon
#

so sten is third level while the entire squad if fourth

signal tundra
#
  1. The Great Bridge
  2. The Beggar's Cliffs
  3. [REDACTED]
  4. The Cavern
safe wagon
#

and in which levels do you fight only one boss?

signal tundra
#

0

safe wagon
#

okay some time ago i imagined a bacton style boss level against Öflugur and Galdur

signal tundra
#

Could you show me images and explain them more?

safe wagon
#

Öflugur is a close range warrior with like 42K health meanwhile Galdur is a support with 26K health

#

Galdur has the ability to summon heavy healing wisps to heal Öflugur

he also could infuse allies with status attacks like voltaic, burn and freeze

#

Öflugur has the freeze effect without requiring Galdur's help

and he has two devastating attacks. one is a jump attack similar to the beserkers where the splash radius is slightly bigger than atreyos' crashdown (it also has no splash limit)

the other attack is the tornado attack where he spins for 8 seconds and he can still move around while doing so

#

the support waves of units start out unorganised with the longbowmen starting in front while the tanky brawlers arrive late

#

but in time they would spawn in formations with brawlers in front, beserkers in the middle and longbowmen in the back

the beserkers can jump a long distance over the frontline to hit your backline (Öflugur would sometimes join them)

signal tundra
#

Hm... Sounds brutal.

safe wagon
#

yeah and the imagination also included them having access to upgrades (or at least the battle simulates that)

signal tundra
safe wagon
signal tundra
#

Questions.

  1. Where do they reside?
  2. Who is fighting them and for what reason?
safe wagon
#

yeah my mind was mostly focused on the battle itself

#

it was on a bridge and the player units were the classic cast
but for some reason i spotted a silverheart on the player's side

#

"a bridge" does not equal "the bridge"

safe wagon
#

my brain sometimes goes wild

signal tundra
safe wagon
covert dagger
#

Muster seems the most
Capitalize helps with heavy cost stuff which is peak-

safe wagon
#

the situation hmm...

well i haven't seen everything on how the gameplay would go so i filled some stuff with what's in the main game

the idea was mainly that the Vikings just appeared somewhere and were wreaking havoc killing both order and chaos units.

signal tundra
signal tundra
safe wagon
#

based off of that rogue brain moment
i would decode that the silverhearts (and some other units) would also fight the vikings since the vikings are just going ham on everything

covert dagger
#

I think it's not balance
Only if both of those are high cost upgrades

signal tundra
covert dagger
#

Yes

safe wagon
#

varied upgrade costs like the ones in Stick Empires

signal tundra
#

That's certainly interesting 🤔

covert dagger
#

signal tundra
#

Would Infuse be too strong if I made it be able to have two cooldowns for spells instead of abilities?

safe wagon
#

giving spells an extra charge

signal tundra
safe wagon
#

indeed

safe wagon
#

signal tundra

safe wagon
#

Heck yes
The scrapped statue is now slightly more canon to the bacton lore

#

However… the word devolve isn’t really that correct

Evolution isn’t improving but simply changing.

The riptors might be smaller due to less food and lost their many spikes because they weren’t that used anymore

safe wagon
#

Rex is a more primitive version of the riptor

#

The raptors were said to be of incredible size

#

And riptors quote on quote “devolved” which implies they got smaller

signal tundra
#

Correct!

#

Rex is able to fit a fully grown stickman's upper torso into his mouth!

safe wagon
#

In a way I have influenced the lore drop of Rex

signal tundra
#

Raptors have dark grey / black skin, unlike the brownish skin Riptors have.

#

Both creatures still share the same red eyes.

safe wagon
#

It is confirmed riptors are chaos

#

Or at least descended from it

#

The large raptors were made to be huge and spiky. Basically to be very deadly.

But when the fire elementals were defeated the chaos creatures were left on their own to evolve if they could

The raptors evolved to be smaller and many of the spikes were just unnecessary

#

So came forth the riptors
Still fast and deadly, just less weapon and more animal

signal tundra
safe wagon
#

and that without even knowing the campaign lore

#

so that cutscene was going to be about chaos creatures and how they evolved to be less deadly to be more practical. and some of them went extinct due to how screwed up they were by the fire bois

Sometime after All Debts Deferred.

#

Lali made a path for the campaign a while ago, but as of now it's fairly outdated. It still has cutscene and mission locations though, Part III's mission location hasn't been added yet - that's something to consider in the future.

safe wagon
#

the three levels

1: southern desert
2: marrowkai-eclipsor border
3: eastern crawlers land

safe wagon
#

since there are four levels now maybe have one in the swamplands
that's the location where order encountered the riptors

Playable Kestral vs Boss Kestral

signal tundra
#

Here's how Verdict works. When Kestral is a safe distance away from threats, she will stop targeting units that she predicts will die due to Bleed.

To Atreyos, Kestral's Bleed effect deducts 1,500 HP which is 10% of his total HP in this campaign.

(First screenshot) In this calculation, Atreyos has been shot 9 times by Kestral, however the AI acknowledges that Kestral can fire one more arrow and allow the bleed damage to defeat him. The last arrow will bring Atreyos down to 900 HP and Bleed will make him lose 1,500 HP.

(Second screenshot) To save Atreyos, the player would need to recover 601 HP. This is, however, a hypothetical situation where Atreyos is neglected and does not receive any healing.

Should the campaign be playable, I'm certain you'd do better to keep him alive.

signal tundra
safe wagon
signal tundra
safe wagon
#

it crosses like 3 times in the old ice hills (eastern desert)

#

so the fourth level is like

"oops the capital is under attack let's take care of that real quick instead of having one of the other generals handle it"

signal tundra
safe wagon
#

yeah i just miscounted

signal tundra
#

Also... I don't think a couple Generals can handle what happened there...

safe wagon
#

also cutscenes (from what i remember) are placed on the path right after the level you just beat

signal tundra
signal tundra
#

It's like a way to anticipate and brace for impact.

safe wagon
#

isn't there a cutscene in the base campaign that takes place in a tower near the volcano but the button is like somewhere near the new ice hills

signal tundra
#

Yeah, it's ugly to look at to be honest

safe wagon
#

oh wait i just remembered something

#

cutscenes get played after beating a level

#

so

signal tundra
#

There's some in-game cutscenes too

safe wagon
signal tundra
#

I meant mid-level

#

I'm counting cutscenes that are exclusive to a certain level

safe wagon
#

so there will be like 7 cutscenes

fossil jacinth
#

Yo

signal tundra
#

Much more.

#

Hence why we've got a LOT to chew through before Part II releases.

#

Part III is just HELL.

safe wagon
#

hmm

so this is going to look like an overachievement

#

many cutscenes with 70% of them interupting gameplay

signal tundra
safe wagon
#

a tenth the amount of levels but five times more cutscenes compared to the base campaign

signal tundra
#

The Defence of Castle Iris is about ~15 minutes long

#

The Cavern is ~20 or ~25

#

It's really strenuous, but there are checkpoints throughout levels so you can bookmark your progress and comeback later

#

These levels aren't just your plain old battlefield, I've made sure to stir the pot a lot.

#

Just enough to make half the brain explode.

safe wagon
#

strenuous... fancy way of saying tedious

signal tundra
#

Overkill is a reasonable criticism

#

If I showed you all the cards that we have, I'm sure you'd understand

safe wagon
#

so the first two levels are like the length of a normal multiplayer match

signal tundra
#

The second level could even be shorter than the first if you really tried

safe wagon
#

excluding the cutscenes

signal tundra
#

Second level only has two exclusive cutscenes

safe wagon
#

i kinda doubt that it's going to be that short considering how much health the bosses have

#

even with the new upgrade stuff

signal tundra
#

The boss itself has 17,500 HP I believe.

#

It might get altered to 22,500 though

safe wagon
#

those numbers feel oddly random

#

even tho they aren't

signal tundra
#

||This boss is a reflection of the final boss||

safe wagon
#

ah the captain guy

inland lynx
#

I am increasingly convinced that this concept is great.

safe wagon
#

i remember you saying that none of the levels have 1 boss

signal tundra
#

If you're interested, you can peruse the campaign document which has compilements on lore, etc.

signal tundra
#

Take your guesses.

safe wagon
#

mid-game cutscenes.....

dammit it's like a mutli-phase thing but with new bossses

signal tundra
safe wagon
#

so after beating the statue (or it's equivalent (or if enough time has passed)) the boss guy appears

just like Stick War 1's final level

#

but in this case it's even more difficult than Omega or the other giant since the target is so small and fast and has much more health

signal tundra
#

That is the only condition you have to complete, hence why I suggested Level 37 is equivalent to Level 36's duration, or even shorter

signal tundra
#

Special mechanics are at play here too

safe wagon
#

and i just remember they were all supposed to be ambush style

signal tundra
#

This level is kind of like a reverse ambush

#

You're trying to break through what your opponent is throwing at you

safe wagon
#

yes like that

#

so... build army and upgrades
defeat central army
watch cutscene
build more army and upgrades
defeat more army
defeat boss
win

signal tundra
#

All levels share one mutual fail condition, and that is if too many enemies breach past your defence point (where your garrison would be)

safe wagon
#

tower defense health thingy?

#

yep it's an entirely different game
how did i miss the hints

signal tundra
#

Again, this campaign blows a lot of conventional things out of the water

#

No statues, no resource veins, no garrison, etc.

safe wagon
#

is it even going to be stick war anymore?

#

the only elements that remain are: the map and the playable units (plus atreyos)

#

i'm not going to be surprised if the artstyle will be changed as well

signal tundra
signal tundra
#

E.g. building upgrades have become doctrines

signal tundra
signal tundra
#

We've teased almost everything in the spotlight videos.

#

Take a look at who's with Atreyos

safe wagon
#

wow more characters

signal tundra
#

This isn't helping the fact that this project is extremely overwhelming

safe wagon
#

i can see because the foundation is barely there

safe wagon
#

continue with your boss rush cutscene simulator

#

i am going to wait

#

to see if the hype will be worth it

#

if...

signal tundra
#

Alright, I'll come clean.

#

You know your stuff, and I'd really be grateful if you could gloss over what's been laid out so far

signal tundra
signal tundra
#

On top of all this, you're also one of the only people to actually give criticism.

#

Which I could really, really use before we get to the later levels

safe wagon
# signal tundra

tone down on the cutscenes a little

like three for every level feels redundant especially coming from the base game

#

it will also ease the animators

signal tundra
#

I would truly appreciate it

#

Even though you've stated you wanted to wait

#

You're like.

#

My last hope for criticism

safe wagon
#

i'll check it out...
but where is it?

#

i was quite nonchalant so i never looked at it before
