SWS seems lacking in game modes, even compared to Legacy. There's Campaign Mode, there's a few different pvp modes... is that it?
Obviously "re-add Legacy modes like Event Mode and Tournament Mode" is something that probably has already been considered so I wont mention them further. But I'd like to propose some new gamemodes (potentially future Campaign level gimmicks?) instead.
MAP VARIANTS: I liked the game's new take on Gold Rush, I'd like to see more unusual maps. Maybe one with multiple Center Towers? One with a hazardous swamp that slows down non-Flying units? An active volcano that erupts with a full-map Meteor Storm whenever the tower is captured? An area with wild magic where spells have unpredictable additional effects? Lots of possibilities for creativity here.
ARMY OF THE DEADS: You know how Plants vs Zombies had "I Zombie" which was the regular game in reverse? This would be Endless Deads but in reverse. You have a limited number of troops and have to figure out how to use them to break through an AI defense. You have no statue/miners, and only get resources from destroying the enemy army/statue. Rinse and repeat until you run out of units.
1V2 MODE: The map is similar to Gold Rush, but your statue and spawn is in the center where the tower is. Nowhere to retreat to and no garrison - there's enemies on both sides, so your "Defend" order is more like "Attack to the left". You start with extra miners and always control the center tower. Divide and conquer!
THE STICKMANHATTAN PROJECT: Fend off increasingly powerful waves of enemies as you take the time and resources to build a superweapon. Itd probably take like 10000 gold/crystals and multiple minutes to complete. Essentially a timed mission, but the timer is dependent on what you can spare while defending. Vault of Prudence is highly recommended.
What do you think? Do yall have your own proposals to share?
